SportInspired's local sports coaches are delivering PE sessions to the children of key workers in schools across the UK.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Government’s decision to close UK schools to all but the children of key workers and children that are vulnerable, SportInspired has continued it's mission of helping children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to thrive.

Last week, SportInspired began to work with it's Sports Providers to deliver fun and high-impact physical activity sessions live to primary schools across the UK, via the use of technology.

In a new campaign called FitFun, SportInspired is bringing the nation together working with schools, parents and sports coaches to deliver fun and impactful activity in schools and at home.

The FitFun campaign comes at a time when there is huge concern at the potential damage to both the physical and mental health of children during the pandemic.

For being part of the FitFun Live Sports sessions, schools recieve
tailored live sessions to help to reduce sedentary behaviour and
boredom, by giving children the opportunity to get active and try
sports they may never normally have access too.

Since the campaign launched last week, the virtual classes have taken
place in Clapgate Primary school, Leeds with Kirsty from Enso Martial
Arts and at Manorfield Primary in Tower Hamlets with Indy from
Kaizen Ryu Karate. Both well-loved Sports Providers, the Martial Arts
always prove popular at our multi-sports festivals, and they are no
less exciting when held over Zoom!

SportInspired will continue to set up more sessions in more schools across the UK to help vulnerable children and children of key workers. These sessions will be running as regular weekly sessions similarly to the SportInspired legacy sports clubs, including activities, nutrition plans and mental wellbeing exercises to keep children happy and healthy.

SportInspired is encouraging schools across the UK to participate in the active sessions to combat inactivity through having fun, being
active and connecting with others.
